Chinese Cultural Experiences

Ann Rossman & Janine Comella

he approximately 500 students of Creekside will get to experience Chinese culture though the three games requested below. These are hands-on activities to permanently enhance the Chinese unit of the World Language curriculum.

We are currently in our second year of building the World Language curriculum at Creekside. Our students are fully engaged in the hands-on, cultural activities that we have shared with them so far. Our Chinese curriculum will be tremendously enhanced with the requested games.

Some students had an opportunity to borrow Chinese yo-yos, and they were a hit. We would love to share these opportunities with all students and make these supplies a permanent part of the curriculum. All materials can be used for many years to come.

There is no better way to learn culture than to experience it! And, there is no better inspiration for learning language than to connect with the culture from which the language comes. We are so excited about this class and the chance to build a sense of cultural understanding, empathy, and appreciation in our Dexter students.
