A CNC Router MakerSpace and Science department STEM projects. The CNC router machine is programmed by the student and can make full 3D engravings in hard and soft wood as well as MDF, acrylic and Plexiglass.
MakerSpace and other science programs and teachers will be able to use the CNC Router Machine. The CNC router machine is programmed by the student and can make full 3D engravings in hard and soft wood as well as mdf and acrylic and Plexiglass.
Our 3D printer makes a 3D object by the laying down of plastic material by a computer controlled arm. This tool makes a 3D object by removing material by a computer controlled arm. This allows students to make objects that are not made of heat sensitive PLA.
By adding a CNC router to our Makerspace class, we will have completely rounded out the “must-have” tools for a successful workshop. Not only will the CNC router allow students to create more complex designs and more professional projects, it will also provide them experience using a machine that is much more common in today’s workplaces. Additionally, the combination of woodworking (traditional manufacturing) and computer control systems (STEM) are able to enrich a very wide variety of students interested in differing career options.
Besides MakerSpace, the portable CNC Router can be brought to other classrooms that are working on a STEM project such as Chemistry when they are making a periodic table element display or making a model of a molecule or Biology when they build a cell model.
All teachers will have access to the CNC Router for building demos or lab materials such as molecular models, display stands,, signs, glassware racks etc.
