Brain Bins to Boost Creativity and Problem Solving Skills Across the DEEC

We are hoping to purchase STEM supplies and STEM toys that all first graders can create and collaborate with as they try out their designs and use creativity and problem solving not only as part of the building process but also as part of working with peers on a common product/idea.
Students across the entire first grade at both Anchor and Beacon will use these brain bins during various parts of the day such as during morning community workshop, science, and even indoor recess or times of collaboration. Students will use their imagination and engineering skills as well as their execiutive functioning and interpersonal relationship skills to imagine, pretend, plan, collaborate, experiment, build, and have fun. The goal of the brain bins is to boost creativity and problem solving through play, which ultimately boosts self-esteem and learning.
